Janet N Rainey

Janet N. Brown Rainey, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 29, 2026, just shy of her 92nd birthday. Janet was born in Williams, Indiana on February 10, 1934 to the late Charles Noel Brown and Jeanette Sears Brown. She graduated from high school in Fayetteville, Indiana and was a member of Old Union Christian Church in Lawrence County, Williams, Indiana. Janet was married for 74 years to Wayne Rainey and she was, as Wayne says, a perfect wife and an absolute princess!

In addition to her parents, Janet was preceded in death by her son, James Edward Rainey.

Janet is survived by her loving husband, Wayne Rainey; son, Mark Rainey; grandson, Rodney Rainey (Leslie); granddaughter, Melissa Faulkenberg (Dave); sister, Brenda Stipp (Joe); and a host of family and friends.

A graveside service will be held at 1pm on Thursday, February 5, 2026 at Duncan Memorial Chapel on the grounds of Floydsburg Cemetery, 5600 Old Floydsburg Rd, Crestwood, KY 40014.  Burial in Floydsburg Cemetery will be private.
