Janet King

Janet King, 74, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Monday, January 10, 2022. Janet graduated from New Albany High School in 1965. An LG&E retiree, she enjoyed spending time in her garden and volunteering at the Baby Manger Shop. Janet was a member of Faith Community Church in New Albany.

She was born on June 9, 1947 in New Albany, Indiana to the late James Glaze and Betty Rippy Glaze. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Derrell King.

Janet is survived by her son, Dylan Schutz and his wife, Donna; daughter, Star King and her significant other, Jeffery Wheat; sister, Deborah Glaze Carmer and her husband, Terry; grandchildren, Sabrina and Franklin King.

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, January 14, 2022 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). There will be additional visitation from 9:00 am to 11:00 am on Saturday with a Graveside Service to follow at 11:30 am at Galena Cemetery.
