Janet Lynn (Losson) Harvey, 84, of Floyds Knobs, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2025. Born on December 23, 1940 in Scottsburg, Indiana, she was the daughter of Dennis and Iola (Marshall) Losson. Janet's life was marked by her deep faith and commitment to her community as a longtime member of Martinsburg Church of Christ.
Throughout her life, Janet cultivated many passions that brought joy not only to herself but also to those around her. She found delight in quilting and had a talent for baking bread. Janet enjoyed playing Scrabble, showcasing her sharp mind and competitive nature. Additionally, she was an avid viewer of Hallmark movies, often finding solace and joy in their heartwarming narratives, alongside her enthusiasm for sports, particularly baseball and basketball.
Janet's most cherished role was that of grandmother. She rejoiced in the lives of her grandchildren, holding each one in her heart with pride and love. Her nurturing spirit and unyielding support were foundational elements in their lives, creating bonds that will be treasured for generations to come.
Along with her parents, Janet was preceded in death by her infant son, Steven Harvey; grandsons, Zachary Ferguson and Bradley Harvey; great-grandchild, Phoenix; and her brother, John Losson.
Janet is survived by her devoted husband of 68 years, Carl Harvey, Sr.; her children, Carl Harvey, Jr. (Debbie), Denny Harvey (Susie), Sherry Schiller (David), and Teresa Roberts (Frank); her grandchildren, Nelson Yates (Jennifer), Brandon Yates, Sarah Mitchell (Jeremy), Autumn Grasty (Cullen), Jamie Schiller, Joshua Schiller (Kim), Jessica Blair (Chris), Jennah Everhart (Cye), and Michaela Schlangen (Shaun), Emily Roberts, Cassie Roberts; as well as her great-grandchildren, Sloane, Peyton, Lincoln, Mabel, Deacon, Eila, Braxton, Evelyn, Elias, Ozzlyn, Mila, Jack, Brock, Alice, Frankie, Holly, Kaylee, Sam, Dawson and Raygan.
Family and friends are welcomed to pay their respects during visitation from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, November 17, 2025 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, located at 3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany. Visitation will continue on Tuesday after 10:00 a.m. at Martinsburg Church of Christ, 4505 E. Borden Road, Pekin, where Janet's funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Martinsburg Cemetery.
