Janet Sue (Aemmer) Davis, 71, of Edwardsville, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, March 27, 2018, at her home with her loving family by her side. She was a member of St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church in Floyds Knobs, graduated from St. Mary's Elementary and New Albany High Schools, and was a loyal and dedicated employee of the Derby Dinner Playhouse for 32 years. She enjoyed arts, crafts, sewing, and knitting in her spare time and was a loyal fan and friend of Billy "Crash" Craddock. Janet's pride and joy was always her family, especially her grandchildren, who she referred to as her "Sugarbabes."
She was born on May 28, 1946, in New Albany, Indiana, to the late Frederick, Sr., and Margaret Elise (Shirley) Aemmer. Along with her parents, Janet was preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years, Scott H. Davis; and brother-in-law, Virgil Peay II.
Janet is survived by her children, Missy Michal (Ed), Julie Striegel (Rob), Lisa Barker (Todd), and Anita Richert; grandchildren, Nick Michal, Scott Striegel (Ashley), Brandi Striegel, Tessa Barker, and Chase Rapp; siblings, Sharon Peay, Sandy Whalen (Tom), and Fred Aemmer, Jr. (Julie); and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 29, 2018, at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana 47150). Her Funeral Liturgy will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 30, 2018, at the chapel of St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church with burial to follow at Edwardsville Cemetery-Tunnel Hill in Edwardsville.
