Janet Carol Bayens

Janet Carol (Grote) Bayens, 64, of Nolin Lake, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, January 6, 2017. Early in life, Janet enjoyed cooking and sewing. She also liked spending time at the lake and loved her grandchildren dearly.

She was born on May 2, 1952, in Charlestown, Indiana, to the late Sylvester and Catherine (Hayes) Grote. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Michael Grote; and sisters, Joyce Moreland and Victoria Hoover.

Janet is survived by her loving husband, Jack Bayens; daughters, Kristie Baird (Mark) and Toni Beasley (Chris); sons, John Bayens, Tom Bayens (Susan), Karl Bayens (Lisa), and Steve Bayens; siblings, Bobbi Brooks, Shirley Schultz, Jackie Peay, Marilyn Dunn, Mary Jane Fletcher, Patty Hartman, and David Grote; grandchildren, Brandon, Travis, Katherine, Stephen, Marshal, Chris, Sara, and David; and 4 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Friday, January 13, 2017, at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana) with her Memorial Service taking place at 6:00 p.m. Cremation was chosen following Janet's wishes.
