Jane (Eberhardt) Zipp, 99, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, December 20, 2018. She was a founding member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Jane was an election poll worker in Floyd County for over 40 years until the age of 90. Earlier in life, she enjoyed being a den mother for the Cub Scouts. Jane was a master cook of comfort food and will be remembered for sharing a meal with anyone who visited her home. She was an avid traveler and had been to every state in the U.S. except for Hawaii. Jane was devoted to raising her children and was so proud to be a loving grandmother to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was born on August 5, 1919, in Floyd County, Indiana, to the late Fred and Frankie (Arnold) Eberhardt. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, Fred P. Zipp; and her sister, Vineita Jones.
Jane is survived by her children, Fred Zipp (Diane), Tom Zipp (Laura), Don Zipp (Dottie), Rick Zipp (Elaine), Carol Goins (David), and Janet Leach (Chris); 16 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 26, 2018, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church (1752 Scheller Lane, New Albany) with burial to follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in New Albany. Cremation was chosen following Jane's wishes.
