James William Holsclaw

April 17, 1922 — March 25, 2015

James William Holsclaw, Sr., age 92, of Louisville, passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2015. He graduated from Male High School and attended the University of Louisville. Jim was an Air Force WWII Veteran and a former member of American Legion Highland Post #201. He was owner and operator of Holsclaw Transfer, Inc. and was past president of the Transportation Club of Louisville. He was also a member of the Rusty Wheels and former member of the Bonnycastle Club. Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel; children, Patricia Ann and James Holsclaw, Jr.; parents, George and Mary Holsclaw; sister, Rosemary Santamassino; and his brother, Bernard Holsclaw, Sr.

Jim is survived by his children, Darlene Jumpp (James) and Gloria Votaw (Wallace); 7 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; 2 nephews, Anthony Santamassino and Bernard Holsclaw, Jr.; and a host of family and friends.

Funeral ceremony will be 11am Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Drive with burial to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 3-8 pm on Friday at the funeral home.
