James Walter Winter

June 24, 1936 — March 22, 2016

James Walter Winter, age 79, of Louisville, passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at his home. He was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam Era and was formerly employed with Mid-America Auto Auction and Derby City Antique Mall. He was a member of First Alliance Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl Thomas and Evelyn Wilkins; and his brothers, Robert Bruce Woodring and George Bauer.

Jim is survived by his loving wife, Marsha; his children from his first marriage, Lisa Durrett, Angela Cochran and Michael Winter; 3 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; siblings, Bill Shannon, Mary Bauer, Martie Holcomb (Donnie), and Emma Farley; sister-in-law, Tillie Woodring; several nieces and nephews; and a host of relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be 2pm Monday, March 28, 2016 at Floydsburg Cemetery, 5600 Old Floydsburg Road in Crestwood, Kentucky.

Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital or the donor's charity of choice.
