James Tinsley

October 7, 1953 — June 15, 2017

James "Butchie" Tinsley, Jr., 63, of Louisville passed away on June 15, 2017. He was a professional painter for over 45 years. Outside of working, James was an avid sports fan who enjoyed watching UK play, going fishing and especially spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his son, Cory Starrett and father, Douglas Woods.

James is survived by his wife, Connie Tinsley; daughters, Stacy Hynes, Greta Tinsley, Kelly Hynes and Nikki Craddock; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; mother, Norma Woods and brothers, Eddie Woods, Norman Woods, Howard Woods and Dewey Woods.

Visitation will be Sunday, June 18, 2017, at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Louisville Chapel (10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY) from 10am-7pm. A celebration of James' life will be Monday, June 19, 2017, at the chapel of Newcomer Funeral Home beginning at 11am.

Burial will follow at Cave Hill Cemetery, 701 Baxter Avenue, Louisville, KY.
