James F Smith Sr.

James F. Smith Sr., 55, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2022. James was a loving dad, grandpa, brother, uncle, and friend. He faithfully served his country with honor and courage for over 18 years in the Army. He loved his family and friends and would give them the shirt off his back. James will truly be missed by anyone and everyone who knew him.

He was born on December 29, 1966 in Louisville, Kentucky to Manford and Tempie (Farley) Smith. He is preceded in death by his Father, Manford Smith, Mother, Tempie Jane Taylor, Siblings, Tillie Booker and Mack Farley.

James is survived by his loving family, Sons, James Smith, Jr. and Derik Scott Smith; Many Grandchildren; Siblings, Sue Smith, Willard (Misty) Smith, Donald (Patricia) Smith, and Sallie Joann (Michael) Lindsey; Nieces & Nephews, Donny Roach, Gabrielle Taylor, Amberly Duff, Christina Duff, Alex Smith, Stephen, and Jeremy Tyler, as well as a host of family and friends to cherish his memory forever.

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, March 14, 2022 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). His Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel.

The family requests that contributions in James's memory be made to Wounded Warrior Project.
