James D. "Slacks" Sickles, 82, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, August 8, 2019.
He was born on February 3, 1937, in Lebanon, Kentucky to Lee and Ada (Johnson) Sickles. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Mary Catherine Grady, sister, Anna Elizabeth Durrett, brother, Lee Edward Sickles, sister, Helen Louise Lewis, sister, Frances Marie Sickles, brother, William Bernard Sickles, brother, George Albert Sickles.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Opal L. Sickles, daughter, Valerie J. Sickles, daughter, Vonda K. Sickles, daughter, Vivian L. Overstreet, grandson, Vontreal M. Sickles, grandson, De'Jon L. Sickles, brother, Charles Joseph (June) Sickles, sister, Clementine (Joe) Smalley, Sister, Nancy Marie Railey, and a host of relatives and friends. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
A Gathering and Celebration of Life will be from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, August 13, 2019, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Hwy, Louisville, KY 40272.
