James Rueben Brown

May 15, 1923 — August 11, 2016

James Rueben "Jim" Brown, 93, passed away on August 11, 2016, at his home. He was born in Evans Landing, Indiana, to Louis and Mae (Mason) Brown. He worked as a truck driver for many years and was self- employed. Jim was a member of the Free Masons, was an Army veteran, and enjoyed going to different flea markets.

Along with her parents, Jim was preceded in death by his first wife, Pearl Brown; and his sister, Georgia Hundley. He is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Wilma (Martin) Brown; his loving children, Deborah Crosier (Edward), Sherry Buckman, Jeff Houser, Douglas Houser (Hope), Laura Brown (Brad), Brent Houser, Beth Ann Houser (Todd), and Chad Houser; a brother, June Louis Brown; along with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

His visitation will be on Tuesday, August 16, 2016, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana 47150) with service to follow at 2:00 p.m. and entombment at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to VFW Post #1693 (1919 Grant Line Road, New Albany, Indiana 47150).
