James Radford "J.R." Rayzor, 71, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Saturday morning, October 15, 2016. He was a retired employee of the New Albany Floyd County Schools. J.R. loved the outdoors, playing golf and enjoyed landscaping. He was an avid fan of the UK Wildcats, Indianapolis Colts, and the Cincinnati Bengals.

He was born on November 29, 1944 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Leonard and Mildred (Proffitt) Rayzor. J.R. was also preceded in death by his sibling, Lois Rayzor.

J.R. is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Carol (Saunders) Rayzor; sons, D. Kris Rayzor (Holli), J. Kevin Rayzor (Donna); siblings, Louis (Aloma), and Dellard (Ada) Rayzor, Sandford Lee "Sandy" (Toni), Billy, Keith, Barbara Rayzor and Ruth Rayzor-Hertel; grandchildren, Tazmin, Cheyenne, Sierra; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Cremation was chosen following J.R.'s wishes. A gathering of family and friends will take place from 1PM to 8PM on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany).
