James A. (Jim) Putlak, age 85, passed away Sunday, July 9, 2017. He was a Marine Corp Veteran of the Korean War era and a Catholic by faith. Born in Chicago, Jim's career included CFO of AM International and President of Kane Industries. After retiring from Kane he and his wife Terry of 62 years purchased and ran The Cheer Shop on 3rd St. During retirement he spent most of time playing tennis, fishing, gardening, charity work and traveling to visit his 3 sons, Jim (Karen), Wayne (Kim), Ken (Kim), and 7 grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. People will remember him most for his kindness, humor and engaging personality.

Visitation will be held at 2-4pm on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Drive in Middletown with a celebration of Jim's life following at 4pm.

Memorials may be made to: Mass of the Air, 508 Breckenridge Ln. Louisville, KY. 40207 or Alzheimer's Association of Louisville (Alz.org).
