James "JP" "Redman" Phillips

James "JP" "Redman" Phillips, 87, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones, on May 1, 2025.  He was a member of Little Flock Missionary  Baptist Church.  He was a Central High School graduate class of 1955. JP retired from Henry Vogt Machine Company after 31 years of service.  He was Navy veteran who proudly served with his brother, Junie. JP and his son, Keith worked together in catering and he was a family man who loved his family dearly.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean A. Phillips; parents, John W. Phillips, Sr. and LuWillie LeVaughn; sister, Paulette Todd and his brothers, John Phillips, Jr. and John "Don" Webb.

JP leaves behind, to cherish his memories, his children, Linda Fuqua, Deborah Harper, Elaine (Lenard) Smith, Keith Phillips and Lisa (Chris) Puryear Sr., Tara Britt and DuJuan Britt; 18 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great granddaughter, siblings, Robert Earl LeVaughn and Bruce LeVaughn; numerous special nieces and nephews and a host of family and friends.

Visitation will be Saturday, May 10, 2025 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY from 3pm-6pm.
