James "Peck" Krause, Sr. was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, who touched the lives of many. Born on November 6, 1934, in his family farmhouse, that still stands today. Family heritage was important to Peck; he later built his home on the same land where he resided the remainder of his life. He brought joy and laughter wherever he went. His passing on July 3, 2024, has left a void in the hearts of those who knew him.
Known affectionately as "Peck" to friends and family, Peck was a man of great integrity, kindness and a little bit stubborn! He had a warm smile that could light up any room and a gentle heart that made everyone feel welcome in his presence. His sense of humor was infectious, and he was always ready with a story to share.
Family was at the center of Peck's life. He adored his wife of 60 years, Ruby Lee Krause. Together they raised their two children: Becky and Jim Jr. Peck was a dedicated father who instilled in his children the values of hard work, compassion, and perseverance.
In addition to his immediate family, James had a wide circle of friends; especially those at his McDonalds "liars club" who he loved to aggravate. He was the type of person who would drop everything to help a friend in need or offer a helping hand with a project. Peck loved and adored his family, his passion was working as a brick layer for 60 plus years and being able to take care of his family. He leaves behind his son, Jim (Cindy) Krause, Jr., daughter, Becky Krause Dedas, his grandchildren that he loved and cherished, Cameron, Thomas (Skylar) and Annie, along with his sister, Dottie (Earl).
Peck is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Dorothy (Siewert) Krause, his wife, Ruby Lee Krause and his siblings, Frank, Joe, Mary Ann and Bobby.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation and gratitude to Florence and Comfort, his care givers in the last 5 weeks of his life.
