James Owens

James "Wayne" Owens, 69, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2020.

He was born on October 12, 1950 in Louisville, Kentucky to Joseph and Margaret (Pomlett) Owens. Wayne was an avid Ping Pong player and loved to grill out. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

He is preceded in death by his father, Joseph K. Owens, Sr., mother, Margaret Jean Woosley, wife, Judith K. Owens, step-father, Ray Woosley, sisters, Jean Jaggers and Donna Owens, and brother, John Owens.

Wayne is survived by his son, Michael Shane (Mandi) Owens, son, Robert W. (Amanda) Owens, brother, Paul Owens, brother, John (Rita) Owens, brother, Kenny (Terri) Owens, brother, Chris Woosley, brother, Lee Owens, sister, Lynn Owens, sister, Connie Owens-Bell, 4 grandchildren, Aiden Owens, Austin Brown, Megan Lucian, Jackson Lucian, and a handful of extended family and friends.

A Gathering will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm with a Memorial Service at 1:00 pm on Friday, July 17, 2020 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). Graveside inurnment to follow at Bethany Memorial Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky.
