James Offutt, Sr.

James A. Offutt, Sr., 75, passed away on Wednesday, August 3, 2011 in his home with Tony, Michelle, Beau, and Aril at his side. Jim was a member of St. Louis Bertrand Catholic Church in Louisville. He loved to go fishing and was affectionately known as "Ol' Man" by his grandchildren.

Jim was born on December 14, 1935 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Charles, Sr., and Mary (Floden) Offutt. He is also preceded in death by his stepson, Mikel Pope and brothers, Johnny and Paul Offutt.

He is survived by his children, James Offutt, Jr. (Barbara), Teresa Moore (Doug), Tina Heath (Joe) Brian "Tony" Offutt (Michelle); stepchildren, Gary Pope (Diane), James Pope (Peggy), and Jeannie Young (Russell); daughter-in-law, Jane Pope; brothers, Charles, Lewis, Joseph, and Gerald Offutt; sisters, Mary Nugent, Patricia Kremer, and Betty Siefert; 8 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.

The visitation will be from 12 to 8 PM on Saturday, August 6, 2011 and 12 to 8 PM on Sunday, August 7 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Funeral Service will be at 12:00 PM Monday at the funeral home followed by entombment at Resthaven Memorial Cemetery in Louisville.
