James Nelson Geltmaker

James Nelson "Jimmy" Geltmaker of Pekin, Indiana, passed away on January 25, 2016. He was a 1978 graduate of Floyd Central High School, former heavy equipment operator for Dan Cristiani Excavating, Inc., a former manager of Kay Jewelers, and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pekin. Jimmy was the youngest member of the Geltmaker Gospel Singers and enjoyed his travels to the Great Smoky Mountains.

Jimmy was born on March 23, 1960, in New Albany, Indiana, to the late William E. and Melba (Fife) Geltmaker.. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, William A. Geltmaker, and nephew, Eric Gibson. Jimmy is survived by his loving wife, Donna (Knight) Geltmaker, children; Bradley and Brandon (Kala) Callahan, siblings; Robert Geltmaker (Judy), Carol O'Brien (Ed), Stuart Geltmaker (Phyllis), Patricia Maples (Terry), Richard Geltmaker (Melanie), Joyce Fugate (Dale), granddaughter; Camdyn, and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 28, 2016 from 2-8 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane New Albany, IN 47150) and will continue at 9 AM on Friday. His Funeral Service will take place on Friday, January 29, 2016 at 11 AM at the funeral home with burial to follow at Galena Cemetery.
