James J. Nash, 80, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, June 27, 2019.
He was born on November 14, 1938 in Vincennes, Indiana to James A. Nash and June Hamm. Jim served as a sergeant in the US Army, and retired from Cooper Tire and Rubber Company in Finley, Ohio, and later from UPS and the Fairgrounds in Louisville.
Jim was a man of many talents and interests. He enjoyed fishing, dancing, playing bingo, and traveling. He was an accomplished woodworker who went beyond crafting simple projects to creating beautiful cabinetry and furniture. He was a knowledgeable gardener who produced beautiful tulips and roses as well as fruits and vegetables. Jim was an encyclopedia of information which he shared willingly with a robust laugh.
He is preceded in death by his father, James A. Nash, mother, June Johnson, father-in-law, Joe Timperman, mother-in-law, Theresa Timperman three step-children, Jimmy J. Sutphin, Michael Sutphin, Theresa Sutphin, granddaughter, Cindy Hesson and grandson, Danny.
He is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Diana Sue Nash, 6 children, Terri (John) Hesson, Bill Nash, Susan Walter, Carolyn Nash, Robert (Wendy) Nash, Trish Nash, 15 grandchildren, David, Sarah, Rebecka, Ben, Chris, Cory, Lucas, Alex, Holly, Hanna, Kylie, Emma, Jennifer, Sonja, LeAnna, 12 great grandchildren, Milles, Lea, Maci, Cameron, Benjamin, Lincoln, Briahna, Donovan, Nathan, Celeste, Liam, Payton, 3 siblings, Dale Nash, Rosalie (Charlie) Pifer, Melvin Nash, daughter-in-law, Marlene Sutphin.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). His Funeral Service will be at 10:30 am on Wednesday, at St. Paul Catholic Church, 6901 Dixie Hwy, with burial to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park in Louisville, Kentucky.
