James McGuffin

James Owen McGuffin, 85, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, July 2, 2026. James was a loving dad and Pappa. His greatest joy in his later years was the casinos. We all had a hard time dragging him out winning or losing. He was a man that got better with age. As he grew older he saw the mistakes he made when he was younger and did his best to make up for those mistakes. He will be missed by his family and friends.

He was born on February 15, 1941 in Cecilia, Kentucky to Lafe and Gurthie (Coogle) McGuffin. He is preceded in death by his Father, Lafe McGuffin, Mother, Gurthie McGuffin, Siblings, Wavie McGuffin, Robert McGuffin, Gladis McGuffin, Ruthie McGuffin, Johnny McGuffin.

James is survived by his loving Sons, James L. McGuffin, Timothy McGuffin, Rodney McGuffin, Danny McGuffin, Grandchildren, Sean (Colleen) McGuffin and Kaylee McGuffin, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends to cherish his memory forever.

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, July 10, 2026 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). His Funeral Service will be at 10:00 am on Saturday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens in Mount Washington, KY.
