James "Jimmy" W. Mayes Jr., 63, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, December 10, 2021.
He was born on January 15, 1958 in Louisville, Kentucky to James and Norma (Gahafer) Mayes. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, James Dennis "Jimmy" Mayes, brothers, Larry and Garry Mayes, sister, Diane Bruce, and his niece, Jaime Staples.
Jimmy worked for Cardinal Aluminum for 29 years as a Extrusion Supervisor. He was an avid U of L fan and enjoyed fishing and riding his motorcycle.
Jimmy is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Brenda Mayes, children Juston (Tosha) Groeble, Sam (Cathy) Boyd and Eric (Diana) Barmore, grandchildren, Alexis Mayes Taylor, Jarod Taylor, Jesslyn Groeble, Riley and Easton Mayes, Kara, Samuel and Alesia Boyd, great grandchildren, Xander James Boyd and Haisley Boyd, his sisters, Denise Mayes (Gerry) Crawford and Debbie Mayes.
Visitation will be from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Sunday, December 19, 2021 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions. His Funeral Service will be at 4:00 pm on Sunday, at the funeral home.
The family requests that contributions in Jimmy's memory be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
