James Mayes

James Mayes, 88, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, February 26, 2021. James attended Columbus TN public school. He was apart of the CB Social Club and he work as a room server at Executive Inn Hotel for 36 years. He loved entertaining family and friends at his home and he loved to have the best looking yard in the neighborhood.

He was born on August 25, 1932 in Columbia, Tennessee to Charlie and Stella (Lipscomb) Mayes. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Mayes and Stella Mayes; son, Michael Hill; siblings, Charlie Mayes, Jr., Cora B. Watkins, Pauline Pillow; nephew, Michael Pillow.

James is survived by his loving family, life partner, Rosa M. Hill; granddaughter, Jamarra Render; great-grandchildren, Kevon Render, Rickey Holt, Anthony Holt, and Brooklyn Render; two great-great-grandchildren; nieces, Pamela (Charles) Johnson, Patricia Gurley of Chicago Illinois and Laura Clark of Louisville Kentucky. As well as a host of family and friends to cherish his memory forever.

Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Friday, March 5, 2021 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). His Funeral Service will be at 3:00 pm on Friday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel with burial to follow at in , .
