James "Jimmy" Logsdon, 67, passed away on April 2, 2015. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. Jimmy's love of music was a defining part of who he was. Writing songs and playing the guitar were some of his greatest joys. The only time he put his guitar down was to watch his hometown team, the U of L Cardinals. He wasn't just a fan; he was a "hard-Card" fan. As much as these things defined Jimmy, his love of his family was even greater. He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, son, uncle, and brother. He never met a stranger and had a kind word for everyone. His friends meant the world to him and were easily adopted into his extended family. He will be greatly missed as we all try to learn how to live in a world without him. His smiles, high-fives, fist bumps, and goofy jokes will never be forgotten.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Thelma Logsdon.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Stricklan Logsdon; daughter, Danielle (Brian) Yates; granddaughter, Olivia Logsdon; brother, Ed (Gladys) Logsdon; niece, Laura (Steve) Hulsman and nephew, Todd Logsdon.
Visitation will be Saturday, April 4, 2015, from 3pm-6pm at Newcomer Funeral Home SW Louisville Chapel (10304 Dixie Highway) with a celebration of Jimmy's life beginning at 6pm.
