James Donald Leverett, 71, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Monday, December 31, 2018, with his loving wife, Cindy Call-Leverett; grandchildren, James, Philip, Pharan, and Bella; and dear friend, Shane Stuber, all by his side. He was affectionately known as "Grandpa Gill" and "Pops" by all that knew him. Pops retired after 40 years of teaching from Jonathan Jennings Elementary School in Charlestown.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 4, 2019, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana). His Funeral Service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Abundant Life Memorial Gardens.
