James Bruce Lawson

November 6, 1957 — November 9, 2018

On Friday, November 9, 2018, James Bruce "Jim" Lawson, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away at age 61. Jim was born on November 6, 1957 to Dr. and Mrs. George M. Lawson. He graduated from Ballard High School in Louisville. On November 22, 1985 married the love of his life, Mary Margaret "Molly" McCulloch. They raised two sons, Bruce and Jonathan. Jim ran a very successful landscaping business for decades.

Jimmy had a passion for nature. He also loved to fish and was a skilled golfer. He was known for his kind and compassionate spirit, his gentle demeanour, immense love and dedication to his many animals over the years and for his deep love of family. He especially doted on his grandchildren who were his greatest joy. Jim simply loved life! He was sad to leave us, but now he's with his Heavenly Father. Jim was preceded in death by his father, Dr. George M. Lawson and his mother, Joan Johnson Lawson.

Jim is survived by his wife Mary "Molly" McCulloch Lawson; his two sons, James Bruce Jr. (Chloe DeVore) and Jonathan Alexander; his four grandchildren, Norah, Elaina, Caiden and Scarlett; brothers, George Lawson and Joseph Lawson; two nieces and seven nephews; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, friends and pets who all loved him dearly.

The family would like to express their deep gratitude to the staff of Hosparus and Baptist East Hospital.

In lieu of a funeral, there will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday, November 17, 2018 from 5 to 8pm. at The Paddock at Eastpoint, 13518 Skywatch Lane, Louisville, KY 40245.
