James Kraft, Sr.

James Edward "Jimmy" Kraft, Sr., 71, of Charlestown, Indiana passed away on Monday, August 3, 2015 with his loving family by his side.

He was born in Louisville, Kentucky on February 27, 1944 to the late Otto L. & Elizabeth H. (Ehrler) Kraft. Jimmy was raised in the Pleasure Ridge Park area and graduated from Pleasure Ridge High School in 1963. He was a proud veteran of The United States Army. Jimmy worked for many years at NIBCO and later worked for the Greater Clark County School System. He enjoyed umpiring and being involved with the Charlestown Little League and was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church.

Jimmy is survived by his wife of 47 years, Laura (Harris) Kraft; children, James Jr. (Patricia), Mary Atkins (Mark), Paul Kraft (Wendy), & John Kraft (Mary); siblings, Michael Kraft (Esther), Julia Logan (Gene), & Linda Boyd (Willie); grandchildren, Brittany, Jeffery, Chandanette, Ashleigh, Chase, Megan, Katy, Alyssa, Jason, & Catalina. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Bobby Kraft; sister, Alice Greer.

Visitation will be from 3 PM to 8 PM Thursday, August 6, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Funeral will take place at 10:30 AM on Friday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Utica.
