James Louis Kaestner, Sr., 81, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, July 30, 2017. He was the owner of KU Heating and Cooling for over 64 years. Jim was a man of God and a devout Christian. He was a long-time member of Graceland Baptist Church where he had previously served in the Trucker's Ministry.
He was born on April 27, 1936 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Louis and Mary (Glover) Kaestner. Jim was also preceded in death by his sister, Mary Lou Stumler.
Jim is survived by his wife of 46 years, Linda (Holman) Kaestner; children, Marilinda Wheatley (Mike), James Kaestner, Jr., Karen Kaestner, Kenneth Kaestner; siblings, Darlene Koopman (Lawrence), Donnie Kaestner (Adelia), Carol Ralph (Richard), Judy Schleicher (Steve); brother-in-law, Vincent Stumler (Martha); 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2 PM to 8 PM on Thursday, August 3, 2017, at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Friday after 11 AM at Graceland Baptist Church (3600 Kamer Miller Road, New Albany). His Funeral Service will take place at 1 PM on Friday at the church with burial to follow at Abundant Life.
