James "Jamie" Reuben Nye

James "Jamie" Reuben Nye, born on June 3, 1965, in Jeffersonville, Indiana, left this world on January 28, 2026. Jamie was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and brother.

He was the son of William Nye and Emma Jean Hamelman.

Jamie was a devoted family man, and his loving wife, Lori Nye, stood by him through all of life's adventures. Together, they shared a passion for traveling, creating beautiful memories that would last a lifetime. Jamie’s dearly loved his children: Jeanette Nye, Jamera (Chris) Weisenberger, Lynda Nye, Tiffany (Jeremy) Hall, and Alex Nye. He had 11 grandchildren. He leaves behind his dear siblings, Sonya Tawney (Roger Hall), Candace Weston, Willie (Gayle) Nye, Steve Nye, and Angie (William) Grider, with whom he shared countless cherished moments.

Jamie was a man of diverse interests. He had a deep appreciation for music, especially the Electric Light Orchestra. A highlight of his life was the unforgettable experience of seeing them perform live. His passion for technology led him to become a collector of electronics, a hobby that kept him engaged and excited. Jamie also had a special love for his dogs, Loki and R2, who were an important part of his everyday life.

Cremation was chosen following Jamie's wishes and a private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
