James Howard Pierce, 83, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on Friday, July 8, 2016 at Baptist Health Louisville. He was born in Flint, Michigan on February 25, 1933 to the late Howard and Dorothy Pierce. He was retired as a Command Sergeant Major with the United States Army

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Pierce; and a sister, Eleanor Graham.

James is survived by his children, James Howard (Brenda) Pierce, Jr., Bruce (Nancy) Pierce, Michael (Mary) Pierce, David (Teri) Pierce and Linda (Ron) Hall; ten grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; a sister, Frances Janus; and a host of other family members and friends.

Funeral Ceremony will be 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 18, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway with burial to follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 17, 2016, at the funeral home.
