James Ray "Jim" Howard, 60, of Clarksville, Indiana, passed away on May 26, 2026. Born on January 22, 1966, in Bloomington, Indiana, Jim lived a life marked by integrity, passion, and dedication.
A proud Army veteran, Jim served his country with honor and exemplified the values of duty and sacrifice throughout his life. His intelligence and deep knowledge of history were qualities that those who knew him admired greatly. Jim found joy in many pursuits that brought him closer to family and friends. He was an avid bowler and cherished the special bond he shared with his daughter Haley Howard through their participation in a father-daughter bowling league. Weekends often found him on the golf course with friends, enjoying the camaraderie and competition of the game. He also loved the New England Patriots.
Beyond sports, Jim had a love for exploring antique malls and a fascination with dragons. Whether collecting dragon figurines or immersing himself in fantasy novels featuring these mythical creatures, this passion added a unique dimension to his personality.
Jim is survived by his beloved daughter Haley Howard; his ex-wife Marcella Howard; his sister Kathy Stadtmiller and her husband John Stadtmiller; two nephews; one niece; his loyal dog Peanut; and his longtime best friend Toby Warner. He was predeceased by his parents, Linda Killion and Bob Howard, as well as two cherished fur babies, Bridget and Cuddles.
