James D. Hoagland

James Dudley Hoagland, 87, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, March 20, 2026. Jim was a loving grandfather, keen observer and friend of animals, and avid woodworker.

He was born on November 24, 1938 in Louisville, Kentucky to James and Josephine (Grantz) Hoagland. He is preceded in death by his Parents James and Josephine Hoagland, Grandson Emerson Hoagland, Siblings Bill Hoagland and Loretta Hoffman.

James is survived by his loving Wife of 63 years, Diane Hoagland, Sons Bruce (Brenda Smith) Hoagland and Jason Hoagland, Grandson Ethan Hoagland, Sister Ruth Price, as well as a host of family and friends to cherish his memory forever.

The family requests that contributions in James’s memory be made to Catholic Charities or Kentucky Humane Society.
