James Matthew Harbin, age 60, of Louisville, passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2016. Jim was an Army Veteran and retired from the Kentucky State Reformatory. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police. He was preceded in death by his parents, David Willard Harbin and Norma Jean Taylor Devine.

Jim is survived by his step-son, Insub Beckley (Rhonda); grandson, Isaiah; sister, Mary Harbin Scott (Charles); brother, David Harbin (Vivian); cousin, Michael Harbin, Sr. (Alana); 2nd Cousins, Melissa Harbin (Thomas) and Michael Harbin, Jr. (Christy); aunt, Ruby Harbin; and a host of relatives and friends.

A celebration of Jim's life will be 3-8pm Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Drive, where military honors will be held at 5pm. Burial will be at a later date in Lebanon National Cemetery.
