James Gordon Hord, Sr.

December 13, 1939 — July 20, 2016

James Gordon "Jim" Hord, Sr., 76, of Louisville passed away on July 20, 2016. Jim was born in Louisville on December 13, 1939 to the late George and Virginia Hord. He worked for American Air Filter for 18 years and Mike Linnig's for over 20 seasons. He was a lifetime member of Knob Creek Gun Club.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Bette Hord and two sons, James Erik Hord and James Gordon Hord, Jr. Survivors include two daughters, Jere' Smith (Worm) and Kristina Collie (Shad); companion, Chere McNertney; son, Gary Hord; nine grandchildren, Nikki (Boyce), Kristin (Scott), Austin, Christina (Austin), Brianna, Jamie, Hanah, Dakota, and Reegan; six great-grandchildren, Alison, Alyssa, Hayden, Trace, Isabel and Talon; one brother, George Edward Hord, Jr. (Karen); sister-in-law, Joey McCallum; brother-in-law, Jim Dennis; niece, Kelli Collins (Greg) and nephews, Chris Hord (Amy) and Scott Armstrong.

Memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm Saturday, July 23, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home - Southwest Chapel (10304 Dixie Hwy, Louisville, KY 40272) with visitation from 1:00 pm until time of service.
