James Lee "Jim" Glaze, 95, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Friday, June 8, 2018. He retired as a Barber after 40 years in the Starks Building in Louisville, Kentucky, and was a veteran of the United States Navy. Jim was an avid golfer, which was one of the many reasons he never wanted to leave Florida. He also loved working hard by farming and helping his neighbors.
Jim was born on June 2, 1923, in Elizabeth, Indiana, to the late Wallace L. and Helen (Keene) Glaze. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Jean McClaren.
Jim is survived by his wife of 39 years, Wilma J. (Kratz) Glaze; children, Janet King, Debbie Carmer (Terry), Cindy Guenther (Scott), Dana McRae, and David McRae (Eli); 10 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and beloved caregiver, Christy Etheredge.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 12, 2018, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, and Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana). His Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 13, 2018, in the chapel at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery in Elizabeth.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that Memorial Contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association (6100 Dutchmans Lane, # 401, Louisville, Kentucky 40205).
