James Franklin Heil, Jr., 84, of Louisville, KY, passed away September 19, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. Jimmy was born April 23, 1931 to the late James Heil Sr. and Jessie F. Walden. At a very young age he became the "man of the house". He gave his entire paper route money to support the household. Dad never knew anything but hard work throughout his life. Like many of his generation, Dad quit middle school, added to his age, joined the army, and additionally acquired any job he could to make ends meet. He served 8 years in the Army Reserves. Dad later received his G.E.D. which was an accomplishment in his day with five children. He would drive us crazy with all his stories, but never failed to tell us he loved us. He worked for 33 years at Coca Cola Bottling Company where he rose from a route man to a supervisor.

Jimmy is survived by his devoted wife, Barbara (Miller) Heil; children, Patty McDonner (Charles), Tom Heil, Marty Tackett (Dennis), Janie Borho (Randy), Theresa Yeager (Michael), Ken Sullivan (Cathy), Kevin Sullivan, 19 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Others survivors include sisters Joan Spears (Jack), Jean Simms (Bob), and Carol Sue Pearl (David).
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 36 years, Eva Marie Heil.
Visitation will be from 10 AM to 2 PM on Friday, September 25, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with his Funeral Service taking place at 2 PM. Burial will follow at St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery in Jeffersonville.
