James Egan

Jimi Egan, 56, of Louisville, KY, crossed the finish line on May 25, 2018. He was born on April 9, 1962.

He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Anthony James "AJ" Egan and his brother, Brian Wright.

Left to cherish his memory are his parents Angeline and George Wright and Jim Egan.

His wife of 30 years, Toni Egan, will miss his laughter and smile the most. He was loved by his daughters, Kelsey Egan (David) and Cortney Litsey, his brothers Warren Egan, David Wright, and sister, Joni Otherson, his sister-in-law, Terri Dance and brother-in-law, Mike Bruce, and grandchildren Demi Rose, Emilie and Robbie. Along with his immediate family, Jimi will be missed by countless other family members and close friends.

Jimi loved life, his family, and Churchill Downs. His passion was gambling. He was a legend at the track, and known for playing cards, or beating the spread on sporting events. His humor brought so much joy to all that crossed his path. He was a loyal and trusted friend. We will miss him dearly and cherish the memories always. In his own words, "Aint nobody ever done it like me."

Jimi's family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 from 4pm to 8pm, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville). Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at 11am also at the funeral home. Burial to follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens West, 4400 Dixie Highway, Louisville, Kentucky.
