James Patton Edens

June 24, 1943 — February 25, 2018

James Patton "Frog" Edens, age 74 of Louisville, passed away Sunday, February 25, 2018. He was a native of Oldham County, Kentucky, a retired painter and an avid fisherman. Frog loved his family and his friends and enjoyed humor and good home cooking. He was a member of LaGrange Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Naomi Welch Edens; brothers, Marvin, Joe and Carmel Edens; and his sisters, Virgie Sparrow and Faye Hahn; and great-grandson, William Carpenter.

Frog is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Cynthia Eldridge Edens; his children, Anna Corl (Steve), Sandi Edens and Jenieve Kerby (Donnie); five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren (with one on the way); siblings, Frank Edens (Patti), June Joseph (Johnnie) and Linda Miller; and a host of relatives and friends.

Visitation will be 11am-1pm Thursday, March 1, 2018 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, East Louisville Chapel, 235 Juneau Drive in Middletown, with a celebration of Frog's life at 1pm. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Jeffersontown, Kentucky.

Memorials may be made to Mt. Zion Lutheran Cemetery, c/o Ed Durr, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
