MSG. (Ret.) James Edward Ealey, 84, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on April 7, 2017. He retired after 23 years of service in the U.S. Army and 17 years as a U.S. Postal Service Employee. He attended Jefferson Community College and the University of Louisville. James enjoyed being in the outdoors fishing and gardening.
James was born on April 25, 1932, in Greensboro, Ga to the late Henry Lee and Annie Mae (Lawrence) Ealey. He was also preceded in death by his daughters, Delphine Ealey and Carol Frances Ealey; son-in-law, Rotimi Agbaje; and brother-in-law, Anderson Griffin.
James is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mrs. Samuella (Lawrence) Ealey; son, Bruce Edward Ealey (Johna), daughters, Delores Agbaje and Janet E. Hickmon (Willie), brothers, Gene Ealey and Lamar Ealey, sister, Mary Ealey Griffin; and 7 grandchildren .
Visitation will be from 12 Noon to 4 PM Monday, April 17, 2017 at Newcomer Funeral Home (10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY) with funeral following at 4 PM in the chapel at the funeral home. Burial and Military Honors will take place at 11:30 AM on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia.
