James Thomas Durham

James Thomas "Jay" Durham, born July 13, 1938 in Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on January 17, 2022 in Louisville, Kentucky at the age of 83. He was an Army veteran and retired from GE. Jay was a huge Elvis fan. He loved to eat and loved his chocolate pies and cake. Jay was an amazing dad, father-in-law, papaw, uncle and friend. He had a big heart and welcomed all.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Nell Durham; parents, Owen and Vernetta Durham; brother, Robert Durham; and sister, Mary Franklin.

Jay is survived by his daughter, Janell Blake; son-in-law, Dave Blake; grandson, Ethan Blake; several nieces and nephews; extended family David and Marketta Blake; as well as host of family and friends.

Visitation will be Sunday, January 30, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, and Receptions-Southwest Louisville Chapel. (10304 Dixie Highway) His Funeral Service will be on Monday, January 31, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. with burial to follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens-West in Louisville, Kentucky.
