James Downing

James D. Downing, 83, of Sellersburg, Indiana was called home on Monday, March 2, 2015. James was born on March 25, 1931 in Ennis, Kentucky to Elvin and Esmer (Knight) Downing. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge Number 40 in Jeffersonville, Indiana and was an avid UK fan. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Barrnett. He is survived by his children; Judith Ann Pait, Randall Wayne Downing (Beverly Jean), Cathy Denise Kopp, and Ronnie Downing (Linda); brother, Dorris Downing (Sandra); sisters; Helen Ashby (Don), Joyce Hatchett (Leon), and Diane Downing; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 from 2 to 8 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana). His Funeral Service will be on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at 11 AM at Newcomer Funeral Home with burial to follow at Kraft Graceland Memorial Cemetery in New Albany.
