James Edward "Jim" Didelot, 82, of Floyds Knobs, Indiana, passed away on Friday, December 26, 2014. A veteran of the U. S. Coast Guard, Jim was an Engineering Graduate of Kansas State University, a member of the Knights of Columbus – Manhattan, Kansas Council and St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church in Floyds Knobs.
Jim was born on December 6, 1932 in Floyds Knobs, Indiana to the late Frank & Emma (Bezy) Didelot. He is also preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Ed & Brenda Didelot.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years, Mary Imogene "Jean" (Mattingly) Didelot;
7 children, Don Didelot (Barbara Singleton), Patty King (Bill), Dave Didelot (Luanne), Joe Didelot (Lisa), Mary Ann Moberly (Jeff), Frank Didelot (Karla), & Bill Didelot (Ann); brother, Robert Didelot (Judy); sisters, Mary Ellen Koopman (Charles), Dorothy Kruer (Merle); and 20 grandchildren, Brad (Whitney), Ryan, Emily (Keith), Henry, Mayme, George, John, Caroline, Isabelle, Peter, Benjamin, Jesse, Melissa, Ross, Drew, Hannah, Trev, Lauren, Cassy & Will.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 PM on Tuesday, December, 30, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane New Albany, Indiana 47150). His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church in the chapel (5719 St. Mary 's Road, Floyds Knobs, IN 47119) with burial and military honors to follow in the church cemetery.
