James Darden

December 9, 1933 — June 1, 2016

James "Peter" Darden, 82, went home to be with his Heavenly Father on June 1, 2016. He was an Air Force veteran and a press operator at Engle Hart (BASF) chemical factory. He always had a smile that could light up the world. James loved the Lord and his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Curtis and Elnora Darden; brothers, Joe and Mack Darden and sister, Margaret Helen Jones.

James "Peter" is survived by his daughter, Debora Darden King; grandchildren, Temesha Edmondson, Shereka Jackson and James King; great-granddaughter, Mikalyn Edmondson; brothers, William, Thomas, and Joseph Darden; sisters, Mary Alice Meneese, Anna Lou Scott, Peggy Henry and Nora Lee Tyler; aunt, Elizabeth Bailey; God daughters, Gwendolyn Cooksey, Denise Buck Fugate and Akilahminah Kairi and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be Thursday, June 9, 2016, at Christ Temple Apostolic Church, 723 S. 45th Street, Louisville, KY 40211, from 5pm-9pm. A celebration of James "Peter" life will be Friday, June 10, 2016, at 11am at Christ Temple Apostolic Church, 723 S. 45th Street, Louisville, KY 40211.

Burial will follow at Kentucky Veteran Cemetery Central, 2501 North Dixie Blvd., Radcliff, KY at 2pm with military honors.
