James Earl Cain, age 85 of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on Saturday, August 2, 2025. James was born on August 3, 1939 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Howard T. and Mary Gladys Cain. James proudly served his country in the United States Army and received an honorable discharge. He retired from Plumbers Local 107 after many years of loyal work. He was an avid pool player and University of Kentucky Wildcat fan.
James is preceded in death by his brothers, Dan Cain, Howard "Bud" Cain, Bobby Cain and John Cain; and his sisters, Fanny Williams and Betty Whobery.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of 49 years, Sandy Cain; his children, James Cain, Jr. and Amy Gagel; a granddaughter, Addy Gagel; and a grandson, Hayden Gagel; and many nieces, nephews and close friends all who will miss him very dearly.
A gathering to celebrate James' life will be from 5 to 8pm on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, East Louisville Chapel, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, Kentucky 40243. Burial will be at 12:30pm on Thursday, August 14th at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff, Kentucky with military honors.
