James E. Brown, 76, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, passed away on Friday, January 12, 2018. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of the American Legion Post 204 in Sellersburg, Indiana. Jim retired from International Harvester in Louisville, Kentucky. He was the past Master of the Pythagoras Masonic Lodge #355, a member of the Kosair Shrine in Louisville, and had also served as the past President of the Tri-County Shrine Club in Clarksville, Indiana.
He was born on February 26, 1941, in Lincoln Park, Michigan, to the late Walter and Naomi (Hill) Brown. Jim was also preceded in death by his brothers, Walter and Dennis Brown; sisters, Naomi Richter and Barbara Edwards; cousin, Johnny Rainbolt; and aunt, Pearl Rainbolt.
Jim is survived by his wife of 55 years, Paula (Sands) Brown; son, Kevin Brown; grandson, Jacob; siblings, Marion Kibler and Kenneth Brown (Emma); as well as many nieces, nephews, friends, and his dog, Mooney.
Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, January 19, 2018, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southern Indiana Chapel (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and after 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. A Masonic Service will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. His Funeral Service will take place at 12:00 p.m. Saturday in the chapel at the funeral home with burial to follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville.
