James Lee Brashear Sr.

James Brashear, 75, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, December 21, 2023.

James was a humble, kind man who would be willing to help anyone. If you ever needed a ride, James was always there for you. James will be deeply missed.

He was born on April 11, 1948 in Louisville, Kentucky to Edward Brashear and Ruby (Bruce) Trombley. He is preceded in death by his father, Edward Brashear, and mother, Ruby Trombley.

James is survived by his loving Wife of 49 years, Wilma Brashear, daughter, Rose Taylor, son, James Lee (Carole) Brashear, Jr., daughter, Amy Manning, and daughter, Abigail (James) Hess. Grandchildren, Adrian Wilcox, Shane Taylor, Andria Baker, and Alyssa Manning, along with eight great grandchildren, and brother Edward (Carol) Brashear Jr.

Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm with visitation to follow on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - East Louisville, (235 Juneau Drive). Burial to follow at Floydsburg Cemetery in Crestwood, KY.

The family requests that contributions in James's memory be made to The local Veterans Association, Louisville, Ky.
