James Anthony Bailey

September 27, 1960 — November 15, 2016

James Anthony Bailey, 56, of Algonquin, Illinois, died on Tuesday, November 11, 2016. Tony was a 1979 graduate of New Albany High School. He worked for the Courier-Journal Newspaper in Louisville until he decided to attend college where he went on to graduate second in his class at RETS Electronics Institute of Kentucky. Tony worked for Motorola in Chicago, Illinois, then was a Release Analyst II for US Cellular until his death. He enjoyed sports and playing Fantasy Football. He used his vast knowledge to compete in trivia contests and also liked to fish. Tony was good friends with all of his neighbors and had special connections with the neighborhood pets.

He is survived by his father, James Elroy Bailey; and his sister, C. Ann Bailey (Brian Kirtland). He is preceded in death by his mother, Pamela A. (Tankersley) Bailey.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, November 21, 2016, at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana). His Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday in the chapel at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Mt. Tabor Cemetery in New Albany.
