James Lewis Anderson

James Lewis "Jimmy" Anderson, died peacefully on April 7,2024 at University of Louisville Hospital surrounded by family and friends.

He was born April 8, 1948, in Greensburg, KY to the late Carl Ellis Anderson and Lou Maudra Christie Anderson. He was married to Linda Diane Wilson Anderson for 38 years.

Jimmy attended Lincoln Institute in Lincoln Ridge, KY where he was a member of the camera club, varsity basketball team, fire brigade student dean and the yearbook staff.

Jimmy never met a stranger and he talked to everyone. He loved watching sports and playing cards. Each day he played the lottery and bought scratch offs. He was a die hard UofL fan. Most importantly he loved his family, his friends, and his daily card games with his cherished nephew Anthony "BayBay" Anderson

His parents, 2 siblings Carl David Anderson, Lou Sarah Anderson and niece, Carletta Miles preceded him in death.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Linda Diane Wilson Anderson; two children Terrence Woods and Niesha Wales; two brothers, Robert Cecil Anderson (Johnnie), Rudolphus "Moose" Anderson (Joan); two sisters, Nancy Anderson, Lois Ann Childs; aunt, Christine Mitchell; five nephews, Anthony Anderson, Brian Wilson, La Mark Sanders, Terry Wilson, Jeremy Wright; four nieces, Trina Speller, Latoya Wilson, Erica Childs, Tiffany Wright; and a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, relatives, and friends.

Visitation will be Saturday, April 13, 2024 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY from 11am-1pm with a celebration of Jimmy's life beginning at 1pm.
