James Seiler and Marilyn Seiler, longtime residents of Palmyra, Indiana, and beloved husband and wife since August 27, 1976, peacefully passed away together at their home on May 9, 2026. Their passing marks the end of a life shared in love, devotion, and community, reflecting a partnership that touched many hearts.
Born in New Albany, Indiana, James and Marilyn lived a life richly woven with common interests and deep passions. They were devoted Indiana Hoosier fanatics, a fact that brought an energetic spirit into their lives and those of their extended family and friends. For many years, they were known within the community as the dedicated proprietors of Countryside Ceramics in New Albany, where their craftsmanship and welcoming spirits left a lasting impression. Their home was a sanctuary not only for their family but for a variety of wildlife, whom James and Marilyn loved feeding with great care and dedication.
Above all, James and Marilyn held their family close to their hearts. They took immense pride and joy in their children-Troy Wolf, Derrick (Charlotte) Wolf, Terri (Jeff) McCubbins, Kyle Wolf Sr., and Larry (Melony) Wolf II-and their many grandchildren: Jordan, Sydney, Madison, Jason, Justin, Elisabeth, Kendahl, Kelsey, Maredith, Christine, Kendrick, James, Kyle Jr., Kayla, Nina, Tevin, Brandon, Miranda, Willow, and Larry III. Their family further extended to include eleven cherished great-grandchildren. They are also survived by Jim’s sisters, Judy Randall and Peggy Renn; and their loyal dog, Bentley, who shared in their daily life and affection.
James’ parents, Bob & Jane Seiler; and his brothers, Bill and Donnie Seiler; along with Marilyn’s parents, Walt & Sylvia Potts, and sister, Sandra Bedan, preceded them in death.
James and Marilyn Seiler will be remembered not only for their life together, which was a testament to shared values, mutual respect, and the joy of simple pleasures nurtured over decades.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 6:30 pm on Friday, May 15, 2026 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Their Funeral Service will follow at 6:30 pm on Friday, at the funeral home.
