James "Gunny" Allison

James "Gunny" Allison, 62, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, March 23, 2022. James was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend. Known to be fiercely loyal, extremely compassionate, and trust worthy. He could always be counted on for great advice and a respected opinion. He was very social and liked to enjoy having fun and making memories with his family and friends. Gunny will truly be missed by anyone and everyone who had the honor of knowing him.

He was born on October 30, 1959 in Chattanooga, Tennessee to Jake and Willa (Lynn) Allison. He is preceded in death by his Father, Jake Allison, Mother, Willa Jane Mitchell, Sister, Desi Allison, Nephews, Tommy Greer and Robert Williams.

James is survived by his loving Wife of 45 years, Kimberly Ann Allison; Son, Matthew Allison; Siblings, Mike (Debbie) Parker and Debbie (Rob) Allison-Warren; Nieces & Nephews, Tiffeny (James) Rose, Amy Strickland, Brad Parker, Merritt (Nancy) Williams, and Josie Timmons, as well as a host of great nieces & nephews, extended family, and friends to cherish his loving memory forever.

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Sunday, April 3, 2022 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). His Celebration of Life Service will be at 5:00 pm on Sunday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel.
